The much anticipated Jammu Kashmir election results were
announced today, in which National Conference secured the majority of votes
with 42 seats and its alliance with congress NC-Cong surpassed the majority of 48
seats of total 87-member assembly, forming the clear majority to govern the
region.
Prime minister Narendra Modi expressed his pride for BJP,
said that he is proud of BJP’s performance in Jammu Kashmir assembly elections,
in a post on X he said, “I thank all those who have voted for our Party and
placed their trust in us. I assure the people that we will keep working for the
welfare of Jammu Kashmir”. Modi’s message highlighted his gratitude towards
his voters and reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to the development and welfare
of the region.
He also took the opportunity to acknowledge hardwork of BJP’s
karyakartas who gave their time to run campaingns during the election period. The
Prime Minister praised their efforts, stating that their tireless work had paid
off, as the BJP's performance stats improved compared to previous elections.
Modi further congratulated National Conference for its “commendable
performance” and acknowledged their victory in the polls. The NC, led by Farooq
Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, managed to secure a considerable number of seats,.
The alliance between the NC and the Congress proved successful, pushing them
past the halfway mark needed to form a government.
The new government , led by the alliance of NC-Cong is expected
to focus on developmental projects, promoting peace and solving the local
issues faced by the the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile the BJP also
promised to work actively as an opposition and continue its efforts to contribute
to the regions progress.
