Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized congress party after
winning Haryana assembly elections for the third consecutive time, BJP won
total of 48 seats and congress won 37 seats, despite congress lost majority of votes but its vote share increase
to 11% as compared to previous elections. Modi accussed congress of questioning
election process and spreading misinformation, a move he claimed was an attempt
to undermine democracy.
“Even after a fair and transparent process, the Congress chooses to cast doubts. The people of Haryana have voted for development, and we will ensure that we deliver on our promises," Modi said during his address at the BJP headquarters in Delhi.
This election marks a crucial moments in Haryana's political history.
In 2019 bjp formed a coalition government with support from JJP and independent MLA's, and they still fell short of the majority with just 40 seats. But this
time they surpassed majority of seats on their own with 48 seats, becoming first
party to form government even after coming to power after two consecutive terms
in the state.
Key winners in the election included Independent candidate
Savitri Jindal, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and
Congress leader Vinesh Phogat. The competition was intense, with the Aam Aadmi
Party (AAP), Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD)
also fielding candidates.
